Once you have made a decision to go to theatre, please contact the practice to book a date. Our friendly staff will guide you in choosing a hospital that is best for you in terms of your medical aid benefits, the complexity of the surgery and the availability of theatre lists.

If you have this discussion during your consultation, you will receive a physical booklet with all of the needed information. All of this information is available on our DOCUMENTS tab as well.

You will receive an email containing the ICD10 codes and procedure codes for your surgery.

Please have this document close by when you contact your medical aid to obtain authorisation with the codes given. Once you have obtained your authorisation, please contact the practice with the number.

Please take note that the practice charges 217%, which is the Discovery Classic rate. Please take note of the amount on the quotation that your medical aid will be paying for your procedure and what your co-payment by the practice will be. One of our friendly debtors clerks will give you a call to guide you through the quotation, the Patient contract and your payment options. Please ensure to sign both the quote and the Patient contract and send it to the address provided. Kindly note that procedure quotations are an estimated cost. The procedure codes and final amount might change. The main member will be held liable for any amounts not covered by the medical aid.

Before your surgery, the relevant hospital admission forms that need to be completed will be sent to you. Please either email it to the relevant hospital or take it with you on the day.

Brink Anaesthetics information is available at the bottom of this screen. If you did not receive the hard copy, please print out all the forms and take the completed forms with you on the day of admission.

On the day of the procedure, please bring along hard copies of your x-ray images.
